DECOMPOSED BODY FOUND. (Per United Press Association). DUNEDIN, June 7. The body of an unknown man was found in a cave on the beach near Green Island bush, apparently washed up by the tide. It was in. a very decomposed state. OLD MAN DROWNED. AUCKLAND, June 7. John Gregory, aged 79, was found with his head downwards, drowned in a waterhole at Western Springs. He lived alone in a shanty and had complained of being unwell. He was possessed of property and a substantial sum in the bank. HARBOUR FATALITY. WELLINGTON, June 7. There is no trace yet of the bodies of Wade and Worn all, believed to have been drowned in the harbour during the recent storm. COLLISION ON FOOTBALL FIELD. DANNEVIRKE, June 7. During a football match two brothers named Whibley on opposing sides came into collision, J. C. Whibley breaking a leg. While lighting a fire at her home at Waiaruhe a girl of fourteen named Clinch used benzine. ’ A big burst of flame enveloped her nightdress which caught fire. Her father wrapped her in a blanket and rolled her on the floor. The girl was severely burned on the neck, arms and legs. She is now in Dannevirke hospital, progressing satisfactorily.
