MOROCCO BATTLE
SPANISH LOSE HEAVILY. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright). (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) MADRID, June 6. A Mellila communique states that Spanish forces supported by aeroplanes and artillery, escorting convoys to Tizziassa position, encountered a Moorish force numbering 7000. A fierce and prolonged engagement was fought. The Spaniards lost 400 killed and wounded. The Moors’ losses were very much heavier. They were mowed down by artillery. The Spanish convoys reached Tizziassa.
