A WORTHY CAUSE

DR BARNADCS HOMES. STREET COLLECTION TO DAY. One of the most worthy objects to which the average citizen can give his whole hearted support is the Barnado Homes of England and to-day the residents of Invercargill are being asked to show in some tangible manner their appreciation of the work which is for the unfortunate children of the British Isles to become more useful citizens. Those responsible for the organisation of the effort to collect funds locally are Messrs John McCurdy and George Featherstone who are acting as joint secretaries and who will have associated with them an active and energetic body of assistants. The principal parts of the town where collectors will be stationed are as follows: Hallenstein’s corner, in charge of Mrs R. W. F. Young; McGruer’s, Miss Sires; Henderson’s (Crescent), Miss A. McDonald and Miss Campbell; Grand Hotel, Miss Niven; Lyon’s corner, Kelvin street, Miss McLeid; Don Street, Miss MacPhereon and Miss Todd.
