AUSTRALIAN LABOUR
RED OBJECTIVE RETAINED. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, April 30. (Received April 30, 9.5 p.m.) A joint conference between delegates of the Australian Labour Party and representatives of unions, reaffirmed the Red or Socialistic objective adopted at Brisbane in 1921. The conference resolved that a plank be inserted in the Labour platform, making it a criminal offence for outsiders to take the place of strikers during a strike and making it punishable by imprisonment up to six months; that the registration of loyalist unions formed since the 1917 maritime strike, be cancelled and that members of the Trades Union, while locked out, receive full maintenance. These decisions were remitted to the annual conference to be held in June.
