GIFTS TO CATHOLIC CHURCH. (Per United Press Association). AUCKLAND, February 20. Bequests under the will of the late Charles Frederick Reid, solicitor, formerly of Whakatane, and latterly of Auckland, include the net income of the residuary estate, estimated at £50,000, to hit widow subject to personal legacies totalling £2OOO. Upon the death of the widow the trustees are directed to pay and transfer to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland the whole of the residuary estate to be employed in charitable, educational and religious purposes in the diocese at his absolute diserr tion. The codicil makes other small bequests to relatives, £5OOO for the Roman Catholic Orphanage for children, and £5OOO for the Roman Catholic Church at Remuera
