Isadora Duncan, American-born, a classic dancer, who recently married Serge Essenine, a Russian poeL in Moscow, thus losing her American citizenship, was detained with her husband upon the arrival here. No information was forthcoming from, the immigration authorities as to why she was detained, but it was intimated that her association with the Soviet Government and her very liberal views on social conventions might be the cause. It is understood that the State Department requested her detention. 'Die hearing wall be held on Monday, at which Mrs Essenine may attend to show the authorities that she is entitled to enter the United States. Otherwise she will be obliged to return to France, whence she came.
