FASHION’S MANY MOODS. Fashions’ followers will be specially interested in the striking dress display at the Progressive Stores’ New premises, Jr.' Price and Bulleid Ltd. The arrival of cold weather has paved the way for the new winter modes which are featured in every conceivable style. To attempt to describe them in detail would take up more space than is perimtted, each has something to recommend it, and the choice of selection is no easy one. This specially applies to rhe stands of coats and costumes which reflect fashions’ many moods. Rich seal, velour, doeskin, tweed etc, were represented in the fashionable henna, kingfisher blue, black and brown. The main feature of the navy and saxe blue costumes was braiding and stitching. Skirts suitable for business wear and out-of-doors were shown in the latest colourings, cut and checks. Charming frocks of flannel, wool, gaberdine j etc. were much in evidence, as also were | the popular knitted frocks, jerseys and jumpers. Infinately varied and dainty georgette, silk, fugi and pongee etc. A sample lirfe of crepe de chine blouses were priced 19/6. Tn the underskirts too there is a great assortment in silk and moirette—what wall specially appeal is the very chic jazz underskirts—the modest price 10/6 will also appeal. A noteworthy collection of furs—fox, kangaroo, stoles capes completed the delightful whole. The object of this special display and special cut prices (everything is substantially reduced) is threefold. First stocks must be craared to make way for projected alterations, second an overburdened market, gave the firm an opportunity of obtaining huge stocks at a nominal price; and third, the last and most important reason, a reason that will specially weigh with the public—lo per cent, of this week’s proceeds is being devoted to the Gladstone and Cameron Homes. Here is your oportunity to heln a most deserving cause, don’t miss it. You are cordially invited to inspect at H. <Sr J. SMITH LTD., The Progressive Stores, Tay Street, I Invercargill and Mari - Streep Gwre/-(advt.)
