THE FRENCH BUDGET

The Budget for 1923 provides for a total expenditure of 23 milliards of francs. There is a 280,000,000 franca deficit. Three milliards will have to be covered by means of a loan. Military expenditure has increased to the extent of 240,000.000 francs and naval expenditure by 323,000,000 franca. There is no new taxation. IT'LL REPARATION REPAYMENTS ESSENTIAL. PARIS, May 17. (Received May 18, 11.15 p.m.) The Minister of Finance in presenting the Budget, emphatically declared that the Budget could not be balanced without full reparation payments from Germany.
