GRADING RETURNS FOR APRIL (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 5 Figures for dairy division of the Department of Agriculture, show that in April, 1922, the butter graded totalled 78,200 cwt. and in April, 1921, 28,060 cwt, an increase of 178.6 per cent. The cheese graded for April, 1922, totalled 118,254 cwt. and for April, 1921, 76,989 cwt., an increase of 53.5 per cent. The butter total for nine months ending April, 1922, was 916,410 cwt., and for April 1921, 668,613 cwt., an increase of 37 per cent. The cheese total for the nine months ending April 1922, was 1,192,675 cwt; April, 1921, 1,059,183 cwt., an increase of 12.6 per cent. Converting these figures into butter-fat equivalent, there is an increase of 26.75 per cent in butter-fat for production for the nine months’ period ending April 30, 1922, as compared with the corresponding period of 1920-1921.
