TEPID BATHS.
(To the Editor). Sir, —In your issue of the 39th inst., I notice a letter from Dr. Ritchie Crawford, in which he suggests that the old Garrison Hall, situated in Leven street., might be used for the proposed Tepid Swimming Baths. The suggestion is a good one, but the question of utilising this building to house a swimming pool has already been considered by the Committee. It was found that the building was too small to contain a regulation size swimming pool, and if swimming championship meetings are to be held in Invercargill, and the Baths are to meet the needs of an increasing population, a regulation size swimming pool is essentiaL I appeal to all those who are interested in the health of the children and the young people of the community to help this project, and not to cease their efforts till the Tepid Swimming Baths are erected. I am, etc., R. M. STRANG. 30/3/22.
