RUSSIAN POLICY BRITISH RESOLUTION RUSSIAN POLICY AT CONFERENCE. RECOGNITION OF SOVIET ESSENTIAL. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) MOSCOW 7 . March 29. (Received March 30, 5.5 p.m.) Tchitcherin indicated that the Russian policy at the Genoa conference would be maintained if it is possible for Russia to conclude deals by means of loans or concessions from foreign capital without abandoning the economic foundations of Sovietism. He emphasised that agreements with other governments must be expressed in a form completely recognising Soviet Government. MR LLOYD GEORGES RESOLUTION COMMON’S APPROVAL SOUGHT LONDON, March 29. In the House of Commons Mr Chamberlain announced the resolution which Mr Lloyd George will move on Monday: that the House approves of the resolution passed at Cannes as the basis of the Genoa Conference and supports the Government in its endeavour to give effect thereto. RESOLUTION ANNOUNCED. MEMBERS INQUISITIVE. MR CHAMBERLAIN DECLINES TO ANSWER. LONDON. March 29. (Received March 30, 5.5 p.m.) In the House of Commons Mr Chamberlain, in announcing the resolution, said he hoped the House would leave the matter to be dealt with by the premier. He could not deal adequately with the scope of the conference by replying to a question. Lord Robert Cecil : Are we to understand the scope of the Genoa Conference will be confined to the Cannes resolutions ? Mr Chamberlain declined to supply the information. Mayor Archer Shee : Are we to understand that, the government intends to reorganize the murderous anarchists of Moscow ? The Speaker said such questions should not be asked. BRITISH LABOUR PARTY’S MOTION. NO CONFIDENCE IN CONFERENCE OR GOVERNMENT. LONDON, March 29. The Labour Party tabled an amendment to the Government’s Genoa motion as follows : “ Whilst approving of the International Conference the House regrets that the scope for discussion at Genoa is so circumscribed that it must fall short of the settlement of the political and economical evils which afflict Europe, and is of the opinion that the Government has not the confidence of the country, or is competent to represent the country.
