KNOCKED DOWN BY A MOTOR. A MAN KILLED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 24. A retired painter, Alexander Clark, a widower, died in the hospital on Saturday afternoon as the result of being * knocked down by a motor car driven by Henry Bird, of Lower Hutt., in Constable street. Clark had just stepped off a tramcar, when he was run down by a motor. SKULL FRACTURED BY A FALL. AUCKLAND, October 24. Thomas Hook, a Customs offiiaa?, aged 33, is in hospital semi-conscious ifetth a fractured skull caused by a fall the pavement.
