The Malvern Tramways Band, champions in 1920, again won the championship ,at the band contest in Ballarat. A KAIKORAI DEBACLE. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, October 24. A private cable reports a debacle for the Kaikorai Band, the sole representatives of New Zealand at the Ballarat contest. In the test (band’s own selection) Kaikorai occupied eighth (last) place. Malvern Tramways were the winners with Newcastle Steel second, and Collingwood third. Malvern also won the quickstep competition, Kaikorai taking sixth place.
