DROP OF A PENNY AT AUCKLAND. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND. September 14. A drop of one penny per lb in the retail price of butter was announced following a meeting of the Auckland Provincial Butter Committee. The meeting carried a resolution to the effect that owjng to the drop in the Home market it be a recommendation from the committee that the wholesale price of first grade butter be 2/- per lb in bulk at factory door and 2/1 for pats at the factory door (plus }d for delivery at Auckland), in order to make a maximum retail price of 2/4 per lb.
