TRAM TIME TABLE
LATE EXPRESS SERVICE. Complaints with regard to the failure of the trains to cater for the public coming from the late express have been numerous, and yesterday a Times reporter called upon the Traffic Manager, Mr Glancefield, who stated that the matter would be rectified when the new time-table was completed. It had been a burning question for some time, he stated, and it has received much consideration from the Trains Committee. They were at present working upon the new time-table, which would remedy the present grievance. At present they had the picture traffic to provide for just as the express arrived, and the few passengers who came from the express were not sufficient at present to warrant a special service. During the holiday season, and when there was extra traffic on the railway, they could not rely upon the arrival of the express, which was often late. The new time-table, which would come into operation when the new cars arrived, would endeavour to remedy the present situation. “There is at present heavy traffic from other sources at the time the express arrives,” he concluded, “and we have to consider the larger number of the passengers. With the new cars we shall be able to cater for all.”
