CALIFORNIAN EXCLUSION LAWS. BELLICOSE DISCUSSIONS AT TOKIO. (By Telegraph—Press. Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) TOKIO, November 11. Students’ societies at three private universities in Tokio, organised a meeting to debate the question, “Shall Japan fight America?” Police twice summoned the students’ committeemen and unsuccessfully tried to persuade them to change the subject. Great public interest is being taken in the proposed meeting. Labour and Socialist representatives have requested the students to permit them to participate in the discussions. The newspapers continue to agitato on the Californian question, the anti-Ministerial press questioning Mr Kara’s recent statements and declaring that anti-Japanese sentiment is rife not only in California, but throughout the United States.
