DISPUTE OVER. TRUST FUND. SON OF CHORUS GIRL DEBARRED FROM SHARE. Marshall Field, the American merchant prince, tied up his estate when ho died and left a trust fund of £400,000 for his errand children. Claims for a share, of the benefits accruing from this fund have exorcised the courts for some time. Harry Anthony Marsh, throe-year-old son of Henry Field, one of the grandsons, and Peggy Marsh,,, a chorus girl, claimed a share, hut the courts, on the motion of the executors of the will ruled against him. Henry Field, in February, 1917, married Miss Nancy Perkins, niece of the Viscountess Astor, and died a few months later. Prior to his death, Field gave the girl approximately £IO,OOO and agreed to settle £20,000 on her son. Following his death two years ago, the Field family carried out his plans and gave Mias Maxsh the £30,000 to educate her son.

Judge Sullivan ordered the £400,000 share of tire trust fund, which was to have gone to Henry Field, to be divided between the other grandchildren of the department store magnate, the present Marshall Field and his slater, Gwendolyn. Attorneys for the present Marshall Field announced that he would turn over at least a large part, and possibly all, of his shore to Mrs Naney Perkins Field, who so far has received no share of the Field estate, with the exception of the £35,000 In personal property of her husband.
