BOWLING. . SOUTHLAND’S PRIZES. OBJECTION BY WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. (Per United Press Association.) 4 WELLINGTON, October 14. At a meeting of the executive of the Wellington Bowling Centre to-night attention was. drawn to a poster issued by the Southland Centre respecting its New Year meeting, stating that prize money aggregating £llO would be allocated. It was decided to draw the attention of the Dominion Association to the programme in question, expressing the opinion that the giving of such large prizes, presumably cash, was most harmful to the best interests of the game ana culling upon the Association to concel the permission given to the Southland Centre to hold the tournament until that Centro withdrew the ofier of such large prizes and reduced the value of any trophy ofiered to not more than the maximum resolved upon at the Association’s last meeting, namely £5 5s per player. football! LONDON, October 13. Received October 14, 8.5 p.m. The Football Association postponed consideration of the question of a tour of South Africa and Australia for further information.
