A meeting of the Southland Boxing Association last evening was attended by the President, Mr E. Rabbidge and Messrs J. R. Martin, C. Matheson, W. Dawkins, C. Davies, J. J. Ward, and G. S. Bishop, The President stated that during the war the Association had been inactive, but now it was desirable that the association and boxing tournaments should be revived. He felt sure that a great many people would take an active interest in the affairs of the association, and if a tournament was held there should be plenty of entries. They could not hold the annual meeting yet, but if it were decided to carry on the first thing to be done was to elect officers.

It was decided to revive the association and the following office-bearers were elected: President, Mr J. R. Martin; vicepresidents, Messrs R. Isaacs, D. Crammond, J. J. Ward, Capt. N. McD. Weir, Dr G. Crawford and Dr Snow; trustees, Messrs E. Howarth' and C. Todd; committee— Messrs S. Lindsay, F. Mussen, C. Matheson, C. Davids, E. Rabbidge, G. S. Bishop, W. Dawkins, A. Cook and M. Ward; treasurer, S. Lindsay; auditor, R. Taylor. J. Cuthill was appointed secretary pro tern. It was decided to hold a tournament towards the end of June, and to re-affiliate with the New Zealand Boxing Council. Mr Rabbidge reported that during the last three or four years he had paid all the necessary accounts and that the plant with the exception of the gloves was kept in good order and would be ready for use at any time. The retiring President was accorded a vote of thanks for the interest he had taken in the Association during its term of inactivity. The question of making further arrangements was held over until May 13, when a meeting of the committee will be held.
