THE STRANDED DORSET. TAKING THE CARGO OUT. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 12. The lightening of the steamer Dorset is proceeding. Two coasters are acting as lighters and the watersiders are working continuously at the unloading. The vessel is in a good position and is not leaking, and is apparently unlikely to suffer damage. The next attempt to refloat the vessel will probably be made to-morrow night. WEATHER REPORT. WELLINGTON, December 12. Following is the official weather report;— Strong westerly winds have changed to southerlies in the South Island, where atmospheric pressure has increased this last evening. Weather has been unsettled generally and boisterous in parts with scattered rain, but heavy rain has fallen in the West Coast and southernmost districts in the South Island. Present indications ore for moderate to strong south-west winds and cool changeable weather generally, with heavy showers in many parts of the dominion. The barometer is duo to rise everywhere.
