CHARGE AGAINST LICENSEE

MAGISTRATE’S WARNING. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 6. The licensee of the Clarendon Hotel, William Anderson, was charged to-day with permitting drunkenness on the premises. He was fined £2O and had his license endorsed. Mr Fraser, S.M., said defendant had been convicted before. . He was satisfied defendant was not a proper person to hold a license, and it was his duty to report the matter to the licensing committee if defendant continued in charge of the hotel.
