PRIVATE J. HAZLETT. Private Joseph Hazlett, reported to have sustained a severe shrapnel wound in the abdomen on August 12, is 19 years old and the sixth son of Mrs \V. K. Hazlett, of Myross Bush. He was born at South Hillend, where he commenced the education finished at Myross Bush. He was engaged in farming when he enlisted with his brother Jamison in the Sixteenth. PRIVATE J. B. HAZLETT. Wounded by gunshot in the left leg on August 12, Private Jamison Brown Hazlett, fourth son of Mrs W. K. Hazlett, of Myross Bush. Born at South Hillend 24 years ago, and educated there and at Roslyn Bush, the soldier was working on a district -chaff-cutter when he enlisted in the Sixteenth. Two other Hazlett brothers are on active service. PRIVATE G. S, WHIPP. Private Gordon Spencer Whipp, wounded by gunshot in the right leg on August 8, is a son of Mr and Mrs J. Whipp, of Pahia, of which place he is a native. After leaving the Pahia school, Private Whipp, who is 22 years old and of a very quiet disposition, followed the occupation of a teamster and was at Mr L. Garden’s local flaxmill when he answered the call for the Nineteenth Reinforcement. PRIVATE JOHN CLARK. Private John Clark, who was recently reported killed in action on August 16, is the son of Mr and Mrs William Clark, of Menzies Ferry, and was 19 years of age when he enlisted in June, 1916, with the 18th Reinforcements. He was bom at North Makarewa, and educated at the Makarewa School, after which he followed fanning pursuits. He took a keen interest in cricket, and was of a bright, cheerful disposition and respected by all who knew him. His eldest brother, Robert, enlisted with the 10th Reinforcements and is now in France.
