THE LATE T. PARATA

FUNERAL SERVICE. ' (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, March 10. The funeral of the late Hon. T. Parata took place to-day at Puketeraki. A large crowd of people, including many visiting chiefs, paid their last respects to the deceased, who was always greatly esteemed. Visiting chiefs were present from all parts of the South Island, also froin the North- Island. Dr Pomare represented the Ministry. A sensation was caused prior to the commencement of the burial service by the sudden death of the undertaker, James Quorley, owing to a-heart attack.
