Results; — ELMS HANDICAP (one mile)—King’s Bounty, by Bobadll —Royal Favour, 3yrs, 8.3, 1; Pistolaire 8.9, 2; Baldpate 7.3, 3. Nine started. Hotfoot led the field to the turn, but King's Bounty was first into the straight, and eventually won by a length and a quarter. Time, Imin. 40% fees. GIB.' )N CARMICHAEL STAKES. For two-year-olds. Seven furlongs. J. N. McArthur’s ch c Macadam, by Wallace —Cross Roads, 7.4 .... 1 R. M. Hawker’s bk c Haud, by The Welkin—Fairiand 8.11 2 J. Widdls and J. Mills’ ch c Remmon, by Budorus —Stcphano 8.12 .. .. 3 Ten started. Haud led to the straight from Lady Key and Quiliion. Over the last furlong Macadam put in a challenge to the leaders and won by a head. Time, Imin. 48secs. NORTHCOTE HANDICAP (one mile and a half) —Bridges, by Bodadil—Natalia, 4yrs, 7.7, 1; Capricious 6.13, 2; Lardncr, 6.7, 3. Also ran—Pretty Bobby, Sea Pink, Lucky Escape, and Tulkara. At the mile post the field was headed by Lucky Escape, who led into the straight from Bridges and Pretty Bobby on terms. The last named was beaten at the distance and Bridges won by threequarters of a length. Time, 2min. 36% secs.
AtTTIIMN" STEEPLECHASE (about three miles and a furlong)— Fireworks, o.n, 1 ; Flash Bob 9.5. 2, Artillery Bill, Canadium and Cobram fell at different stages, and Balmara dropped out of the contest. Won by twenty lengths. Time, 6min. 2fisecs.

Also ran—Aides. William the Silent, and Maori Lad. The last-named headed the field for a mile, when William the Silent passed him, then two lengths away came Wolaroi, Patrobas. Aides and Lavendo together. Flalf a mile from home William the Silent was three lengths clear of Wolaroi. William the Silent led into the straight from Wolaroi and Patrobas. In the run home
Patrobas drew out to win by a length, with Lavendo three and a half lengths away third. Time, 3min. 33secs. SCHOOL CRICKET. On Friday afternoon a trial match was played between Possibles and Probables in order to give the selectors a chance to pick a team to journey to Dunedin on 24th March. The Possibles hatted first and scored 46 (McKay and Jones 6 being highest scorers). Spillane took 4 wickets for 8 and McDermott 3 for 8. The Probables with a strong batting side succumbed to the break bowling of Welch, after scoring 13, the chief scorers being; Kilby 3 and Taylor 2 ; Welch took 6 for 2 and Brown 2 for 3. The selectors have announced a trial team to play a XVI on the Tec. grounds at 3.15 p.m. to-day (Monday). The XI — Welch, Carnahan, McDermott, Mills, Spillane, Sparks. Churchill, Brown,

On Saturday morning, in North v. Waihopai, Fraser, for North, put up 43. In the afternoon Marist defeated High B by one run: St. George defeated Waihopai by five wickets and 15 runs; Tec. defeated South, and Middle defeated High A. Mr A. Rodie has very kindly offered a medal to the boy who on the trip to Dunedin puts up the. highest score against Otago. The boys will tender thanks to Mr Rodie.
