A SERIOUS EARTHQUAKE
IN THE DUTCH EAST INDIES. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association). AMSTERDAM, January 25. Received January 26, 7.15 p.m. A serious earthquake occurred on the Islands of Bale and Java (Dutch Blast Indies). Fifty natives were killed and 200 injured. Thousands of houses, factories and temples were destroyed, and the Governor’s palace damaged.
