TUNNELLING CORPS FOR WESTERN FRONT. THE SANITARY' CORPS. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, February 23. Tlie Hon. James Allen, interviewed by a reporter, referred to a misunderstanding as to the sending of men straight into camp after enlistment. Ho explained that when peculiar circumstances existed in Wellington district, lie had agreed to allow these men to proceed direct to camp. It was never contemplated, however, nor was it announced, to establish a general rule, which would be unite impracticable, causing chaotic congestion at training camps. Latest reports from Home showed that the New Zealand Tunnelling Corps created a most favourable impression, being so good, indeed, as to require very little additional training, it is understood that the corps will lie sent to tlie Western front. Many applications have been received in connection with tlie establishment of a, sanilaiy corps. Applicants represent a good type of professional men anil technically-skilled artisans. Arrangements are well forward for creating a New Zealand division, consisting of three brigades of infantry, artillery, etc.
