SUICIDE

A TIMARU CASK. (Per United Press Association.) TIMARU, February 14. An inquest was held to-day in a case of suicide with unusually shocking circumstances. Mr George Braceflcld, aged 34, living near Pleasant Point, at 8.30 on Sunday morning, while his wife’s back was turned in the kitchen, shot himself in the breast with a pea rifle. The bullet severed the arteries and he soon died of Internal hemorrhage. His wife fetched a neighbour and the doctor was sent for, but before the doctor arrived the man was dead. He had been drinking, and even had liquor that morning.

The Coroner returned a verdict of suicide while temporarily insane.
