CONFERENCE AT CHRISTCHURCH. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, February 9. The annual conference of the locomotive engine drivers of New Zealand opened this morning, Mr J. Henderson presiding. The mayor extended a welcome to the delegates. The president said that the executive did not agree on the whole, with the Federation of Labour's manifesto. It was thought that they should strive to bring the war to a conclusion as soon as possible, and uphold the integrity of the British Empire.
