Mr Caair. explained the adoption of a uniform electrified underground system which would meet all the demand for the next forty or fifty years, with provisions for expansion. It was also proposed to electrify the suburban railways. The total estimated cost was fT,OOu,OOO, on which the annual interest will bo £315,000.
