CAPTAIN HENDERSON COMAIITTED. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, July 2:’,. The hearing of the charges against John Ruhert. Henderson, Captain and Adjutant of tiie itch t South Otago I Regiment was continued a,t the Police Court to-day. The partly heard ones that on or about June I' l , 10 12, accused did steal £OS 5, -, portion of a sum of £1292 9/6 paid him on behalf of the Government for payment to the officers and men of the regiment in camp at Milton. The second charge was that on November 9, 1912, at Milton, accused did steal 30/-, the amount received by him for a military belt. Tito third charge was of sdealing £7 S/6, portion of a citeque for £2O. paid to a Milton carter. The allegation was that £7 S/6 was aeused’s private account with the carter, and that he paid the whole amount, with the regimental funds. Accused, who reserved his defence on each of the three charges, was committed for trial.
