A special meeting of representatives' of football clubs was held last evening, the following clubs being represented; Invercargill, Star, Southern, Waikiwi, High School, Winton, and the Western District Sub-union. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the S.R.F.U. to favourably consider a scheme of holding a footballers' sports meeting, certificates to be given to winners of competitions, and that Uie Sporting League banner be awarded to the club or team having the greatest number of points, first place to count 5 points; 2nd, three; 3rd, one. Also that all competitors appear in full club costume, and that Wednesday, August 25. he the date fixed for finding the fixture.
It was also decided to recommend that competitions be held for secondary schools throughout the province, and also for all primary schools.
