Andrew Fisher, questioned i regarding a Fiji correspondent's statement that it is rumoured that Fiji is ! likely to be brought under the direct .control of the Common wealth of Aus- ; tralia. said that he could give no definite information because lie had not received any. It was quite unlikely that I anything would be done till the end Of I the war. The Daily Telegraph points out that ; Mr Fisher does not deny that a transfer is to be made, and adds; “There are \ indications that the report is correct.”
