GORE BRANCH. A meeting of members of toe Cure branch of the Southland League was bold in Latham's rooms on Tuesday evening. There were 17. members present. Mr A. A. Mac Gibbon (president > j. rest ding . The, secretary (Mr W. 11. B. Fleming) reported that the roll number was row 112. Of tills 42 adults' and seven juniors' sll bscri ptions had been paid. The reef inis amounted to £22 IDs. It was hoped that all outstanding sub-s'-ription.-. would li" paid shortly. Branches hud been opened at Waikaka. and Rivcrsdale. and the formation nf other branches at Waikaia, Balfour, Waikaka Valley, T’ukeran. Tapamti. Kelso ;uid Heriot was being kept steadi y in view. The work of the. committee ir- the direction of forthier developments bad been considerably hampered by the duties devol\ing upon individual members in connection with the Patriotic Fund Committee. The chairman remarked that 11,-' League should hold tneelings monthly, but owing to the patriotic meetings t : e- e could no; well held. He hoped, however, to see meetings held regularly and the work of the League pushed forx ard. The principal business was to receive ion: inations for the various offices of -.he branch.
