The special mid-monthly April sale was .held in the Winton yards yesterday in very boisterous weather. The yarding was very large and fully 0000 sheep of all descriptions were forward. The entry was largely composed of aged ewes and cull iambs. There was an occasional pen of really good young ewes and an odd pen or two of forward wethers. Owing tit the rongh weather the attendance of the public was somewhat smaller than usual, bul from the outset it was seen that all were buyers. Bidding opened fairly keenly, and continued ;o throughout the sale, very little of the

yarding being passed at the hammer and any lines passed in being immediately sold privately. Aged ewes were in exceptional good demand, bringing quite two shilling a head advance on last sales prices. Voting ewes were also eagerly sought after, two-tooth making is high as 22s fid. Wethers were not nearly so firm as at the Otantau sale last week, but at the latter stile it was | generally conceded hat prices for this description 'of stock were higher than the market warranter), and it was no surprise to see this stock slightly easier at yesterday's sab' than the one lodd I last Friday.
