TARANAKI OIL

(Per United Press Association). new Plymouth' April 7. Strong gas indications have been experienced at the Motorua bore, Taranaki, during the past, few days and lead to the hope of further developments as the bore is carried deeper. Since Saturday the bore has been deepened nine feet and on Monday night as hand pumping operations wore proceeding there was a sudden outburst, gas. oil and mud being twice thrown over the top of the derrick. Early this morning another blowout yielded fifteen barrels of pure oil, which was saved. The force was so great that it disconnected the two-incli pip© leading to the tank outside the bore. The activity continued till day and the latest report of the manager is that (lie bore is freeing itself of mud and getting into oil.
