ANNIVERSARY DAY
WELLINGTON PROVINCE. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 22. Fairly fine weather, with a wild nor'wester. greeted Wellington on the seventy-four anniversary of the foundation of the province. As the day progressed the sun made occasional appearances i tint the strength of the breeze, bearing clouds of dust, made tilings unpleasant in the city. Largo crowds went out to Trontham for the races, and Newtown Park attracted a big attendance at the early settlers' ro-nnion and sports. The local yachting regatta and the swimming and athletic sports at Seatown attracted a fair number of spectators.
