Black versus white. LYNCHING PARTY RESISTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright). NEW YORK, May 16. Received May IS, 5.5 p.m. v , ; At Oklahoma a negro was charged with attacking a white woman. He escaped, and a number of armed whites sought to lynch him. The negro’s friends resisted, and a pitched battle followed. Two whites and one negro were badly wounded. A negro was captured, and the mob were preparing to lynch him, but decided to hold him as a witness against the woman’s assailant.
