THE DUNSDALE WATER SCHEME.
•To the Editor. Sir, —Ere the big vote re £IOO,OOO is to be recorded by the Invercargill ratepayers to decide whether the town water supply will be derived from the Dunsdale creek or not, I desire to ask a few particulars concerning the same. Firstly, will the total cost or only part thereof be prepared and published for the perusal and guidance of the ratepayers? Secondly, how Jong after the above is circulated, if ever, will the ratepayers be allowed previous to the date fixed for casting their votes ? Thirdly, will the views of the worthy councillors, either individually or as a body, be expressed in a prospectus containing the proposal and financial particulars, or more irresponsibly and ostentatiously on the much misused band rotunda? Perhaps you have already sheets or pamphlets ready for distribution. If so kindly send a few to “Jack Croaker and Sons and grandsons,” Athol, and we will gratefully thank you for your favour and courtesy. Thanking you in happy expectation.—pi am, etc., J. CROAKER. Athol.
