The Chancellor proposes that employers and wage-earners pay a penny apiece less, thereby eliminating temporary sick benefit and leaving permanent sickness, sanatorium and maternity benefits untouched. Feeling among the Liberal rank and file favours the creation of new Peers to pass the Veto Bill, and it is believed that 200 would prove as effective as 500, giving the Government a new hold on the Lords. MB HEALY ON HOME RULE. LONDON, July 10. Mr Tim Healy has been adopted as a candidate for North-east Cork. Speaking to the electors, he said he believed that the Home Rule Bill would be more disappointing, than the Irish Councils Bill, which was unanimously rejected after Mr Redmond accepted it. He believed it would prove a swindling financial arrangement for Ireland.
