NATIONAL ARBITRATION
MR TIFT'S SUGGESTION SIR E. GREY’S RESPONSE WELCOMED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association. —Copyright.) LONDON, March 15. Received 15, 9.15 p.m. All parties and sections of the Press cordially welcome Sir E. Grey’s response to Mr Taft’s suggestion in regard to an arbitration treaty covering all possible grounds of quarrel. Doctor Jowett, at Birmingham, said he hoped his going to America would prove what he thought the King, when he recently saw him, wished, viz., that they might be like two peoples helping to band more firmly together. Sir E. Grey’s work regarding the treaty was pregnant with tremendous issues. On behalf of England’s Protestants he could express to his cousins across the sea a deep desire for such a treaty.
