AFFRO ACHING £SOO. The amount of the Hospital Sat-q-day collection is being added to daily, and the total is now £483 S.s 6d. The following amounts came to hand yesterday;— £ s. d. Hedgehope. Cote) additional 0 7 3 % Total to date £483 8 6 The sum of £l6 12 BVL>d was acknowledged from Winton in our Monday's issue, and the advice was received by wire. Last evening the secretary received a letter from Mr F. A. Colo, together with a draft for £l7. which now completes the Winton collection. The amount wa collect ’ with boxes by the following ladies: —-urs C. J. Butler, £2 Is 6d: Miss M. Cole, £1 15s 7d, Mrs Goodall and Miss Castle, £1 6s 6d; Mesdames Keith and Briasco, £l6s 5%d; .iss G. Horner, £2 5s 3Md; Mrs Henderson, £1 4s o%d; Misses D. Brown, F. Moore and R. Brown, £5 3s sd; Winton Public School, os 3d. Mr Brown, manager of the Bank of New Zealand, added the odd pence to make the total. The Mayor, Mr R. Jamies xi, was chairman of the local committee; the secretaries, Messrs W. D. Cowit and IV. E. Taylor and Mr F. A. Cole supervised the work. The result of the collection is excellent, and the workers and the people of Winton are to be congratulated. There are yet a number of lists to come to hand, and Mr Paapo estimates that these will produce at least £SO, which, if correct, will make the grand total about equal to that of last year's collection.
