Winton Mayoralty

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I wish to draw public attention to the fact that neither I, nor, as far as I know, Mr Hamilton, as nominators of Mr Watson as Mayor of Winton, recognise in any way whatever the pamphlet issued by Mr Woodnorth ; that our action is based on Mr Watson's having been a councillor and a fit citizen in every way for the position. That Mrs Watson has had trouble with tho Council is none of our businoss at the present time, although I may make reference to it at the proper time and place.—l am, etc., JAMES WELSH. Winton, 27th April.
