Sir H. C.-Bannerman says that he intends to pass 22 more bills, including the Merchant Shipping tonnage, sAustralian Slates Constitution and the evidence on Colonial Statutes Bills. He considers it possible to pass another 17 if the opposition is not extreme. Mr Balfour considers that such a programme is ludicrous. Supporters of the Deceased Wife’s Sister Bill, intend to appeal to the Government to press the measure through. Tile Butter Bill was read a third lime after Mr Lowe’s amendment to limit the moisture in milk blended butter to 10 per cent, had boon defeated by 133 to 22. Several other amendments were also negatived. Mr Burns promised that the Government would insert a clause providing that wrappers for milk blended -butter shall s-4. out the percentage of moisture therein.

Sir T. G. Bsmonrtc (Nationalist) has resigned his scut in the. House of Commons.
