Russia semi-officially denies Mr Rothschild's statement in the House of Commons in reference lo Hie shooting of repatriated refugees. LONDON, March 20. Air Herbert Gladstone, Home Secretary. in the House of Commons, said he had no confirmation of the statement. Mr Rothschild staled that there was irrefutable evidence that every refugee, refused admission to England and repatriated, was shot on the Russian frontier without trial. 1 His was used as an argument why the Aliens Ail should not be made too stringent in dealing with refugees of scanty means. The London correspondent of the Argus remarks :—" Though the Aliens Act of last year fell far short of public demand. it lias already done much rood.
