Received sth, 10.12 p.m. The general naval manoeuvres of the Australian squadron for 1905 have been postponed. H.M.S. Cadmus Is under orders to proceed to Hong Kong. WHOLESOME CRITICISM.
As an outcome of the controversy regarding the expense of a peripatetic Hiigh Court the Chief Justice has announced that the Court will sit as long as it deemed expedient in any on© capital. This will probably effect a saving, the Court sitting for a longer period in one city, instead of moving about regularly, whether business demands it or not. Under the new agreement the beadquarters of the Court will be to a great extent at Sydney. THE A.M.P.
At the annual meeting cf the A.M.P. Society it was reported that the accumulated funds had increased to 201 millions, while the bonus distributed was the largest jet' and much larger than that of any mutual life office in the British Empire. Mr Richardson reported satisfactory business in N.Z. The report was adopted.-
