GISBORNE, May 5
A compensation claim by P. -Joyce against the Public Works Department for £4BOO for land taken for a railway was dealt with by the Supreme Court to-day. An arrangement was made by which Joyce accepted £125, each party to pay its own costs and assessor. CHRISTSHURSIT. May 5.
The Supremo Court sittings which open hero on Monday will bo adjourned till the 15th.* There are only three cases.
