The Addington Markets
Per United Press Association.CHRISTCHURCH, April 19. At the Addington yards to-day there was a -large entry of all classes of stock Beef was easier in consequence of largesupplies. Store sheep, especially ewes, .were lower, and the fat lamb market was dull and sales were at lower rates. Fat sheep sold well at the opening, but afterwards prices declined. Store cattle were in poor demand. Store Shoop—lBoo entered. Ewes were several shillings cheaper than a few weeks ago. Wethers brought 15s to 20s Id ; ewes, 13s 4d to 19s ;; lambs, 13s to 15s fid. Fat Lambs—A large yarding . Tegs, 18s 9d to 20s 3d 1 standard- lamb weights 17s to 18s 6d ; others, 15s to 1.6 s 9d. Fat Sheep—The sale opened at the rates previously ruling, but slackened Off, export buyers not operating to any extent. Prime wethers, 22s to 24s lid ; others, 20s to 21s 9d -, prime heavy ewes, ,21s to 23s 9d ; medium, 17s fid to 20s ; aged, 15s to 17s. Fat Cattle—249 head penned, a large proportion medium, quality. Steers made s'<s 5s to £9 J heifers, £5 5s (o £8 2s fid ; cows, £4 15s io £7 5s ; equal to ■lss to 2Os, and extra prime to 24s per 1001 b. Store and dairy cattle mot with dull sale. Yearlings, to' • 30s; 15 to 18 months’, 35s to 42s fld; 2yr-oW steers £3 5s ■ do heifers, £2 5s ,1 3yr-old steers £5 Is ; do heifers, £4 10s ; dry cows, 30s to £3 10s ; dairy cows, £4 10s to £9 10s. Pigs—A fairly largo yarding, and some very prime lots of baconers and porkers. Prices were about the same as last week.
