A well-attended meeting or tins orancn was held on Wednesday. Mr P. Thomson reported that since last meeting he had visited Christchurch, and by invitation attended the summer conference tbere. He also took) advantage of an invitation to visiting members to inspect Lincoln College, and altogether his trip Jiatl been instructive and pleasurable. Ho also mentioned the fact that the Union branches generally appeared to be flourishing, and from statements made by Mr Kirkbride, M.H.R., Mr Buckland, of Otago, and others he , considered that the success of the Mutual Insurance scheme was assured. A resolution was passed requesting Mr James Flemimg, the member for Awarua on the County Council, to continue his endeavours to have the Awarua boundaries equitably adjusted. It was suggested to petition Sir Joseph Ward with a view to having* an independent commissioner appointed,, preferably the Public Trustee. The matter of rabbit poisoning was discussed, and it was stated iJiat excellent results were being obtained with pollard. A resolution was carried reqfuesting' the settlers of. Koslyn, Woodlands and Mokarewa to start poiscning simultaneously on Monday, sth December, as it was considered that this method would be most effective. Mr Paterson, organising lecretary, was present, and addressed the en th 9 ailments of stock at this season, giving some valuable information on toe methods of treatment. _
