» .< -- Per United Press Association. DUNEDIN, Nov. 25. The carnival in aid of the Fire Brigades Demonstration concluded tonight. About £1200 will bo cleared. The Premier was present and in tho course of some remarks said fire brigades should be 'placed on a sound financial basis. He would like to see a fund out of which firemen who werq injured at fires should be compensated. In the case of a member of a brigade being killed on duty at a fire his wife and family ought to be cared for and be* charged upon the people.
