Ed their views on the subject. The best possible spirit prevailed throughout the discussion ; and it seemed to be the opinion of the meeting that all the guarantors would" pay heartily. Mr Paterson then address-U. the meeting at some i length, touching on such diseases as • were likely to be prevalent during; ■ ing the next few weeks. A splendid discussion followed, the chairman, Mr Gilchrist, Mr McCleary, Mi* Cruickshahk, and others took part. Mr Gilchrist in proposing a vote of thanks to tho lecturer, stated that he read a good deal on the diseases of animals ; but that everything could not be found in books. The address had filled up many gaps, and gave him a better grasp and a clearer view of points that were formerly obscure. The chairman spoke on similar lines in, seconding Mr Gilchrists' motion. A vpte of thanks to the chairman brought a very profitable meeting to a close.
